Five matches we can't wait to see at Morocco 2026
In six weeks' time, the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2026™ will get under way. The tournament, which will be hosted in the North African nation for a second straight year, will be contested by 24 teams from six confederations, with the winner set to be crowned on 7 November at Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

Group A: Germany v Argentina
A truly classic match-up will begin the festivities in Morocco, as Germany take on Argentina. The Europeans sunk Norway, England, Spain and France en route to the continental title, and will be determined to seal a first global crown here. Argentina, meanwhile, were edged in the South American Under-17 Women's Football Championship by Brazil, but showed a mix of mettle and magic during their run to the decider.
Group A: Morocco v New Zealand
The hosts have been handed a difficult opening-day task in the shape of New Zealand. Alana Gunn's side qualified for these finals by romping to victory in the OFC U-16 Women's Championship, scoring 22 and conceding just twice. The Young Football Ferns will be keen to record a first tournament win since 2018, while Morocco, backed by a strong home crowd, will be out to stop them.
Group B: Nigeria v DPR Korea
The Group B favourites collide in its finale, as Nigeria take on two-time reigning champions DPR Korea. Blessed with potent attacking talent, Nigeria flew through African qualifying with Harmony Chidi and Queen Joseph netting ten of their 19 goals. It could be the unstoppable force meets the immovable object here, as DPR Korea enter these finals off the back of a dominant AFC U-17 Asian Cup win, in which Yu Jong-Hyang scored 15, including four in the final.

Group D: Japan v France
This match-up pits together two former champions, and could play a pivotal role in deciding which side tops the section. Japan could call upon a staggering ten different scorers during the Asian Cup and will hope their exceptional depth will take them far here. France and Manchester City forward Rachael Adedini, meanwhile, scored once at last year's event and bagged three in qualifying this time around.
Group E: China PR v USA
China PR and USA will go head to head in the group stage for a second straight finals to bring the curtain down on Group E. The States ran out 5-2 winners last year, but China breezed to this edition with four straight clean-sheet wins and will want to set the record straight this time around.
